Nel Slis: Groundbreaking 20th century journalist

Hallo everybody

This is work-in-progress about the ‘Hellcat of the Hague’, a biography of groundbreaking Dutch journalist Nel Slis, which will be put on the blog in instalments from January while the actual editing of the book is going on. All feedback and comments gratefully received.

I started my first-ever blog in a rant mood having spent an entire day trying to get photos onto it – only one made it. There were a lot of other problems as well, including paragraphs that refused to indent and paragraphs in the body of the book that are completely screwed up. So this is not what it should be.  Still, it has to put a toe out into the world today, because groundbreaking Dutch journalist Nel Slis, who became the first Associated Press correspondent in The Hague  after nursing war-wounded in Finland and monitoring for the BBC in World War II , died 10  years ago today and I want to celebrate her life.
